Microsoft hires the former Voodoo chief

Gaming PC boss joins the gamey PC firm
Wed Dec 22 2010, 10:25

LEADING EDGE gaming notebook architect, Rahul Sood, the founder of the luxury gamer-oriented PC firm VoodooPC, apparently has decided to take Microsoft's silver and join it.

Sood announced his new position on his blog and said he was happy to sign up at the Vole.

"Well, it's probably time I let the cat out of the bag. I am happy to announce that I'll be joining Microsoft as the GM for System Experience in the Interactive Entertainment Business," he said.

Apparently being general manager for systems experience at Microsoft is a very exciting job with plenty of opportunity for fun. However, Sood drew the line at actually discussing what that might involve.

Sood enthused, "I'll be working on some really....really...really cool stuff come January 2011." He added, "If you need to get in touch with me feel free to find me on Facebook or Twitter. I may or may not attend CES, but if you have something really cool to show let me know soon!"

VoodooPC was bought out by HP back in 2006, and Sood worked there as its gaming business CTO until last month. It's safe to say that he was a wiz at design so there will be plenty of speculation as to what he'll get up to at his new digs in Redmond.

A tenner says that it's going to be more interesting than a gaming mouse. µ

I'd bet a fiver on the next gen x-box .

They brought him in and his design skills to help make the next in the line of x-box consoles. Given their RROD failure and huge cost due to that, they want someone who isn't going to @#$@ it up.

It's perfectly logical.

Could this be.....

anything to do with the Xbox 3("Revolution"? Good name I think :P). Rahul could create something special for the next incarnation of the Xbox IMO. Of course, he could equally disappear into Redmond and never being seen again haha.

Use Paper Clips & Stamps....

Msr. Sood had intresting web site in 1996, Leading edge fix it in hopeless enviorment. Most was impossible, like cramming hair clip into cpu pins, would be unlikely.

However, rahual did get impressive job after starting into retail field from home in Canada, Special home made for volunteer computernautics, making VooDoo Extreme, Hp. Not Most leading edge, about half step back from Golden Ring, in todays terms, SSD @ 275 Mhz/s Not 500, be what expect for 8 Grand. Reliable powerful & well thought out.

always liked website, except 1/2" hand drill hole enlargeing part was Not aceptable, however one point was well made. theVAGINA IS Clown Car.
