A YOOF who attempted a denial of service attack on the Call of Duty game server has had his collar felt by Inspector Knacker of the Yard.
The 17-year-old Manchester lad was arrested by the Metropolitan Police's E-crime Unit and is being questioned in connection with an alleged denial of service attack on the online game Call Of Duty.
Activision alerted coppers in September after the website was attacked by a programme called Phenom Booter, which left thousands of gamers unable to play for several hours.
The server was hosted in the UK and further investigation traced the IP address of the attacker to the Greater Manchester area.
The Call Of Duty franchise is among the biggest brands in the gaming industry.
Denial of service attacks are proving to be a popular form of protest lately as they do not take much effort to organise but can really stuff up someone you are cross with.
So far no one has said why the teen would have such a beef with the game. Coppers have in him custody pending further inquiries according to the Press Association. µ
