Apple buys old HP headquarters

Jobs' Mob needs more room
Fri Nov 26 2010, 11:57

THE BLACK SHIRTED LEGIONS of Jobs' Mob will take over HP's former headquarters complex in the land of cappuccino.

The 98-acre parcel of land at 19091 Pruneridge Avenue in Cupertino is adjacent to 50 acres Apple picked up back in 2006.

An Apple spokesperson said that the former HP campus will be used to house its rapidly expanding workforce.

"Apple has occupied 57 buildings in Cupertino and still our campus is bursting at the seams," Apple's Steve Dowling said. "These offices will give us more space for our employees as we continue to grow."

Neither HP nor Apple have said how much it will be paying for the complex, but it is estimated that Steve Jobs might have to write a cheque for $300 million or more.

HP has moved its headquarters to a newer office complex in Palo Alto. µ

China

Ermm... Apple DOESN'T own Foxconn in China if this is what you mean. Foxconn is an independent manufacturer who makes components for many famous brands as Dell, Nokia, microsoft, etc.

It's good to do a little research first before posting rumours instead of facts.

Will they be housing 300,000 Foxxconn workers?

Are they going to build huge tower blocks for their workers like they have in China, or will it be a lot nicer?

Why don't Apple set a good example and pay their employees fairly in China instead of running "Nike" style sweatshops?
