News website claims it was blocked by Microsoft
A NEWS WEBSITE claims that it was listed as an attack site by Microsoft's Internet Exploder (IE) after it ran a negative story about Sir William Gates III.
IE users visiting Activist Post were told that the site attempts to distribute malware to their computers.
The outfit said that the Vole apparently claimed that a voluntary and confidential sign-up mechanism for its free weekly newsletter fell under the category of illegal data mining.
The Vole apparently acted on an anonymous tip from a user and the website was labeled as a source of malware attacks. Other web browsers such as Chrome, Safari and Firefox have similar malware protection features, yet none of them flagged Activist Post.
The website said that what was interesting about the timing of this possible censorship was that it came on a day when it posted an article that reflected negatively on Bill Gates. The story called Gates a eugenicist who is meddling with nature in order to help "save" humans.
The writers at Activist Post think that Gates' empire appears be carrying out a vendetta by deterring access to a website that's not favourable to its overlord.
We are not sure that applies. If so, the Vole would have flagged The INQUIRER as an attack site years ago. Besides, Gates has not shown up for work at Microsoft for quite a while.
"This appears to be the latest tactic the establishment will use to shut down access to alternative voices, making visitors believe that the site is 'harmful' to their computer. We have been informed by Microsoft that this is basically a guilty-until-proven-innocent situation, since we certainly weren't contacted to counter any claim in advance of the warning they posted," the website complained.
Activist Post said that Internet Exploder users make up 42 per cent of its visitors. µ

There was a security threat, as verified by three different commenters on his site.
IE was the only browser to pick up on said threat.
His solution to this is to turn off the security feature in IE that picked up on the threat in the first place.
He actually believes his opinion is held in a high enough regard to warrant censorship. Reading the original article I... well, I struggle to take the whole thing seriously. It reads like the usual conspiracy-theorist garbage.
That they could block many more isn't proof it didn't happen, it merely hints it's not a policy.
And gates might not clock in anymore but he is a shareholder and apple in the eye of balmer.
And it might not be gates but some fanboi working at the malware division reading that and taking offense for his 'hero' and taking things in his own hands, those things happen all the time.
