SOFTWARE VENDOR TO CREATIVE TYPES Adobe has just issued another zero day warning on its software.
It has posted a Security Advisory on its website warning of another Adobe Reader and Acrobat insecurity issue.
This time a critical vulnerability exists in Adobe Reader 9.3.4 and earlier versions for Windows, Macintosh and Unix, and Adobe Acrobat 9.3.4 and earlier versions for Windows and Macintosh.
According to Adobe this could cause the computer to crash and allow an attacker to take control of the affected system.
To make matters worse the vulnerability is being actively exploited in the wild.
There is not much to go on but it would appear to be another booby trapped PDF problem.
Currently there is not a fix for the problem, although Adobe has promised to keep everyone posted.
Adobe has become the attack vector of choice for several zero day hacks this year and there are signs that it is making an effort to spruce up its security act. µ
