GOOGLE UNVEILED its latest search innovation Wednesday with the launch of Google Instant, which starts suggesting search results as web users type each letter into the search bar.
The INQUIRER was on hand at the San Francisco launch to see what the big deal is about, and take a look at the new tech in action. µ
Although the technology looks really cool (and could be as big a shortcut for searching as hot keys are to typing) the scary part of this is it means google is reading what you type, in their search field, in real time. That's a bit creepy. I wonder what browsers it will be compatible with. It also begs the question of whether some clever hacker out there will use the same technique to fashion really nasty keylogger-like phishing sites to trick people into revealing passwords etc. Tighten down your firewalls people, this horsey could be hollow.
