Apple fanbois join 'Ping'
A MILLION Apple fanbois have decided that it is really important to think different all together and have signed up for Steve Jobs' music social notworking website Ping.
Apple told the world plus dog that in less than 48 hours since its launch one million users have joined Ping.
Apparently it lets users follow their favourite artists and friends to discover what music they're talking about, listening to and downloading.
A third of people who downloaded Itunes 10 have joined Ping and the cappuccino company expects it to keep growing, an Apple spokesperson indicated.
Amusingly Apple has released a list of "favourite bands", which are supposed to draw users into the site, mentioning Coldplay, Lady Gaga, U2, Jack Johnson, and Yo Yo Ma. We could have written this list without even needing Apple to tell us.
One problem for Jobs' Mob is that Lady Gaga has already managed to get herself censored on Ping for daring to mention homosexuality, which is something that is frowned upon by his fruit-themed holiness as unbecoming his Disney-like image.
A music notworking site for Apple fanbois must be like listening to paint dry. "What is your favourite band?", "Coldplay although I think Bono from U2 is the social conscience of rock", "Me too... um... cool....", "I got an iPad....", "Me too, isn't it magical?", "Um, lets go attack people who say we are not cool on these web 2 things....", "I just saw a really cool insult that I translated from an ancient Egyptian pyramid that I don't think people who make fun of us will know about....", "Cool dude." µ

apple is not a computer manufacturer any more, its an expensive gimmick maker and rabidly aggressive marketing company
its sorcery only seems to work on people with an iq less than 50 though...
Apple does not have to compete with Facebook, they just need Ping to drive sales of music on iTunes. That's its goal IMHO. Its not a 'place to hang out'. Its a way of sifting music. Since iTunes is the largest store for online music, I think Ping can be very successful.

I come across an article every once in a while from this cat and pity your readers having to put up with the total lack of substance.
