IPAD USERS MIGHT want to exchange their tablet for Samsung's Galaxy Tab that has more features including a 3MP camera enabled augmented reality enhancment for navigation services.
Launched here at IFA 2010 the Tab weighs 380g and is slim looking but can provide over 7 hours of viewing HD content according to Thomas Richter, Samsun telecommunications Europe portfolio management head, who gave the announcement.
Describing the Tab as a smart media device Richter said that its phone function allows for use with a Bluetooth headset and the Tab can act as a speakerphone. While the 3MP camera is used for video conferencing.
As well as supporting video conferencing, the Tab will come with a music and media hub service that will stream video and songs to the tablet. It comes with a SD card slot with cards up to a maximum of 32Gb. The Tab can also be used as an e-reader. µ
I thought this thing was going to have an OLED display. Oh well.
Just add a Bluetooth ear piece and it has just about all that I would need. I would expect that there is a USB port of some flavour.
Now, what is the MSRP???
This form factor sounds much more practical than the Ifad - as a hybrid somewhere between smartphone and netbook it could actually be quite handy, particularly as it has such advanced features as, erm USB.
