WHISTLEBLOWING WEBSITE Wikileaks has found an alliance with the Swedish Pirate Party.

In a press release the Swedish Pirate Party has announced that it will provide bandwidth and hosting to Wikileaks free of charge as part of its political mission.

This was arranged in a meeting in Stockholm with Wikileaks founder, Australian Julian Assange.

Assange was quoted as saying that Wikileaks welcomes the help provided by the Pirate Party. "Our organisations share many values and I am looking forward to future ways we can help each other improve the world," he said.

Wikileaks has miffed the Pentagon by releasing 76,000 classified US documents about the war in Afghanistan. The files told of US troops bumping off civilians and going through an assassination list of people that local warlords did not like.

Wikileaks plans to release another 15,000 documents that the Pentagon fears will be much worse. It has also posted a huge, encrypted 'insurance' file at many mirror sites all over the world.

The Swedish Pirate Party was created in 2006 to campaign for more freedom on the Internet. It managed to take 7.1 per cent of the vote in the Scandinavian country in the last election. µ
