SEARCH ENGINE OUTFIT Google has gotten around to adding some content to its HTML5 Rocks site.
The website, which was launched in June, was supposed to be packed with HTML5 resources, but was not getting updated.
Now there are numerous resources for reference, tools and tutorials. There is also a new component of the site called HTML5 Studio. This is a place where you can view demos of HTML5 and CSS3.
Writing in the Chromium blog, Paul Irish with Google's Chrome developer relations department said that the site is designed so that people can get up to speed and understand the browser differences and techniques for a robust implementation.
There is an interesting section on HTML5 video, understanding 'offline', auditing your webapp with the Chrome developer tools, and using web workers and @font-face, he indicated.
He added that Google believes that HTML5 will make work more engaging and create a faster, more responsive experience for users.
We're not quite sure how it will do that, unless there is a bit of code that gets you coffee. µ
