AMD releases an SDK

With full OpenCL 1.1 support

DESIGNER OF CHIPS AND STUFF AMD has released its ATI Stream Software Development Kit (SDK) version 2.2 with full OpenCL 1.1 support.

According to AMD, by taking advantage of both CPU and GPU processing power applications like 3D video, HD video chat and multi-display 3D gaming are possible.

AMD's ATI Stream SDK 2.2 brings a range of tools to the developer community including support for OpenCL 1.1, Ubuntu 10.04 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.5.

This updated development platform allows the developer community to accelerate applications on the CPU and GPU quickly and efficiently, AMD said.

AMD claims it will usher in next-generation computing experiences, where voice, touch, gesture and facial recognition capabilities are common, everyday features.

Support for OpenCL 1.1 is vital for the upcoming AMD Fusion family of APUs. The ATI Stream SDK 2.2 also provides expanded support for operating systems, compilers, hardware and the latest industry standards, further streamlining application development and acceleration. µ

Be Firefox.

Please AMD Stream be like Firefox.
There will be no IE 7 if there isn't Firefox.
I hope many2 vendor create an apps that can support both CUDA and AMD Stream.
