The next Ipod Touch will be out soon
THE CAPPUCCINO COMPANY'S Ipod Touch, Apple's small sized Ipad or Iphone without a phone connection, is about to get an upgrade.
According to the "suits you" maker of underpants and other stuff John Lewis said there will be a substantial refresh to the Ipod Touch in September.
John Lewis is a big seller of Apple gear and other stuff, and Rob Hennessey, one of its audio and telecoms device Buyers, told Expert Reviews at a pre-Christmas product showcase event that the news was based on information given to him by suppliers.
He said the next Ipod Touch will have a five megapixel camera with a flash, which will also be able to shoot 720p HD video.
It will have the same accelerometer and gyroscope that were introduced with the Iphone 4, which we hope they will have got working by then, and Facetime video calling over WiFi.
This means that it will need a microphone and is getting so close to being an Iphone that we wonder why Apple even bothers.
Hennessey also said that the device will be sold as a multimedia device rather than a music player. He thinks that Apple will also upgrade the chip to an A4 processor, which only costs $10 so why not?
Sales of the Ipod have been falling as the fad has died away and been replaced by Ipad and Iphone mania.
Apple is not saying anything, of course. It is too busy ignoring press inquiries about Iphone 4 reception problems or catching fire. µ

Apparently the iphone cant really make calls so they r just going to sell the iphone 4 as the new touch with the phone feature turned off.
So if u can jailbreak it u can still useit as phone only if u know how to hold it correctly.
In the meantime, They have recently hired some top notch antenna engineers to fix the problem
The comment by D is absolutely correct. I for one do not want a mobile phone. Thus the iPod touch is exactly the mobile device that I can use.

This is a stupid comment. Not everyone can get an iPhone. Not everyone needs an iPhone. Not everyone wants to pay a monthly fee just to have an iPhone. There are other applications for the iPod touch that don't require a cell phone.
So basically its the iPhone 4 without the phone.........

The problem with consumers these days is they thing everything is perfect. I bought this new and it has a pixel burned out. I want a new one. Guess what? Wake you you idiots. IF the FDA allows 2 Rat dropping in your peanut butter, or 1/2 a cock roach in your favorite can of food, do you actually thinks electronics products are perfect? GTFOOH. If you cannot afford it do not buy it. I do not know what the big issue is anyway. All apple products are very good. I bet you bought a MS Ken and then tried to sue MS for dropping it after 2 months.

Apple is using a get out of jail free card by including a 'liquid' detector that will invalidate your warranty if it changes colour.
This strip (I have been informed by an ‘Apple tech dept lead’) can change simply by going from a cold to a warm room and if this happens - your warranty is voided.
Stick with something that DOESN'T involve Apple (The new MS) your consumer rights are not breached by others…
