TAIWANESE PC MAKER Acer has announced a couple of All-in-One (AIO) PCs with multi-touch displays that will be coming to the UK this summer.

The company will launch Aspire model Z5710 and Z5700 AIO desktops on UK shores in August. It promotes these as the hub of your digital life no less, with an array of its own touch navigation software widgets.

The Acer Aspire Z5710 and Z5700 All-in-One PCs come with Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 CPUs and up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM. They can be configured with up to 2TB of storage, with an option for a 160GB SSD, which is sure to bump up the cost a bit.

Graphics are handled by either a 1GB Nvidia Geforce GT240M or a 512MB Nvidia Geforce GT210M GPU chip. Either one should give the Z5710 and Z5700 enough power for decent graphics handling, depending on your requirements.

Both models have an aluminium case and a full HD display screen, albeit in a TV format 16:9 aspect ratio.

Acer is using its own Touchportal navigation software for multi-touch support. It has what it calls Touchgadgets to access applications and there are several touch-enabled apps for multi-media entertainment. We're quite intrigued by the Touchbrowser app for optimised web browsing. We haven't seen multi-touch web browsing well implemented yet.

For your wonga you also get slot-in optical drive, a multi-in-one storage card reader, an HDMI video port and an optional TV-tuner. Acer is even chucking in an HD webcam

There's no word on prices for these bad boys yet. µ
