FRUIT LOGO TOYMAKER Apple's Iphone for right-handed people seems to have yet another flaw.
Apparently coming up with a phone that disconnects you from your provider when you use it in your left hand is not enough. It seems that Apple's geniuses forgot to test the Imovie software.
You would think that sending a picture on software called Imovie would be a stroll in the park, but apparently not. In fact Apple has made Imovie on the Iphone 4 about as useful as an English mid-field defence.
According to Apple's help files the problem is caused by people who insist on looking at photos that are a little too complex for the Iphone 4's tiny $10 chip.
The support site said that some photos will cause Imovie to quit while exporting images.
Full-size images taken from the rear facing Iphone 4 camera will result in this problem more commonly than with older Iphone 3GS pictures, or pictures that have been synced from Iphoto via Itunes, the company said.
Imovie might bug out while exporting a project with as few as 12 to 15 photos, depending on the size of the photos.
Apple's advice is that if its Imovie quits while exporting, export your project to a smaller size or remove still images from your project and try exporting again.
In other words think smaller. The Iphone 4 really is becoming the communication toy of broken dreams and at this rate should be remarketed as the Iphone Flaw. If Apple renames it that, Steve Jobs' fanbois will probably queue for it thinking it is a new model. µ
question: who gives a sh1t?
answer: fanbois and nerds
i'll wager you fall into both of these categories and more besides:
freak, moron, idiot...
You know, you're the first person ever to make that point on the Inquirer's comment boards?
Actually, no, you're not- you're just the latest iDiot to rise to the Inq's deliberately provocative mActard baiting.
Well done you.
I blame my lack of sleep for typing 'pronoun' instead of 'proper noun'.
I'm still right.
so good in my tummy.
IPhone or iPhone or whatever you want to call it is not a pronoun, lolsy. It is just a noun thank you very much.
Fun fact: Cisco Systems was officially "cisco Systems" for awhile before changing in order to show people that the name was derived from "San Francisco."
TBH, I would never buy an iPhone, but these doom and gloom articles are getting tired. My Palm Pre, which I like very much, is hardly perfect and has plenty of quirks as well.
Perhaps people are mistaken in what the "I" in Iphone actually stands for.
The way Jobs acts, all of these Iphones are actually "his" (that could be why users have no rights to what software is allowed to run on them, and why he feels justified in telling people just to hold their phones as he tells them to, and does not allow them to change "his" batteries, and so on). He is just letting them use "his" phones, and they therefore do not deserve to have any rights. Same goes for Ipads.
In this case, it would essentially be sacrilege to spell these devices as "iPhone" or "iPad", as the Lord Jobs name should always be capitalized to honour His greatness (loyal followers can correct me if I am wrong on this precept). So, Iphone and Ipad would be correct, religiously-speaking.
This discussion is offered for educational purposes; instead of quibbling about the correct spelling of Iphones while your cheesy Iphone4 drops calls, disconnects from WiFi, texts people or hangs up when you put it to your ear, crashes when sending photos and movies, etc. the recommended action would be just to get an Android phone and return the Iphone with instructions for Jobs Himself to insert it into his Ihole.
iPhone4sUCKERS
Correct English usage requires the first letter of a pronoun (ie. a name) to be capitalised.
Therefore Iphone is correct, not iPhone.
At least, if you have a brain and actually understand how to write English correctly, (a failing art in these modern days) this is certainly the case.

"Iphone Flaw"
ROFLMFAO
iMovie, not Imovie
iPhone, not Iphone
iTunes, not Itunes
iPhoto, not Iphoto
You should really know the product names and how they are legally printed if you are going to write about them.
"your video chats"
Nokia N900: I just spent half an hour on a 3G Skype video call from the UK to Greece, worked well. Good luck with that on your iPhone. What? You can't? Oh. :(
"editing videos"
Never tried it, can't honestly think why I'd want to. Sorry.
"editing your videos on your android handsets, your video chats etc."
I can do both on Android just fine thanks - what, can't you work it out? Maybe you should stick to your fisher-price iFail.
Nice article,
Unfortunately, a midfield is a completely separate entity to a defence! ;-)
the fact is, with two million 4's out there, the scale of the "problems" reported so far is on the small side.
I sometimes wonder if non-iPhone owners that spend all their time nagging about flaws invisible to others, suffer from plain techno-jealousy or something more serious. baffling in any case.
by all means, just continue enjoying editing your videos on your android handsets, your video chats etc. oh. forgot. you can't.... never mind.
They still don't have it, they just don't understand the catch ;-)
Many of those people would pluck your eyes out in public if you bashed their skewed belief in any way, seriously deranged. I'm happy with them buying their crap and leaving us alone actually ;)
I do believe he was being sarcastic!
And there was me thinking that everything with the aPple logo was flawless, never crashed, and "just worked". Looks like the Iphone Flaw "just works" as long as you a)put it in a case/hold it in a certain way b) don't get too ambitious with Imovie, and c) don't drop it or get it slightly damp.
I ain't no stinkin' Apple fanboi! :)
The first one where the Fanbois commenters are actually bashing Nick for understating a problem with Apple trash. Kudos fanbois, I didn't think you had it in you.
lol, loving the England jibe.
Get this straight, FFS.
Plenty of RIGHT HANDED people hold touch sceen phones in the LEFT hand so that they can tap the screen with the fingers from their RIGHT hand.
Stop saying the iPhone 4 has problems only for left handed people, as this overly simplistic and flawed analysis reduces the scale of the problem quite significantly.
Best opening line, that isn't microsoft related, i've read in awhile on the inquirer.
