Daily Mail claims Iphone 4 might be recalled

According to unnamed sources

BASTION OF ALARMISM The Daily Mail has claimed that Apple CEO Steve Jobs might recall the Iphone 4.

Based on a message from a Fake Steve Jobs twitter account, The Daily Mail went to press with information from this source, who presumably would have been close to the matter, detailing the growing list of faults with the Iphone. Quite surprisingly, the rag failed to mention that mobile phones, like everything else it writes about, cause cancer, promiscuity and liberalism.

The article has since been pulled from the Daily Wail's website, with a new version omitting the reference to the Fake Steve Jobs twitter post, but thankfully The Next Web was sharp enough to grab a screenshot of the article for posterity.

The hapless reporter might have been saved his blushes if Apple's legendary aloof PR department had bothered to get back to him. But sadly and true to form it didn't, and therefore we were left with yet another gem to add to The Daily Fail smorgasbord of journalistic excellence.

To be fair, the article did a pretty good job of rounding up the major faults discovered with Apple's shiny new toy, though the astonishing error appearing in just the second sentence of the piece makes it harder than usual to believe everything else it says.

Should Apple announce a highly unlikely recall of the Iphone 4, it would be interesting to see whether the Daily Mail might take credit after all, since it does pride itself on being a public service. µ

Some of us odon't know what "recant" means.

Suppose that the Daily Mail ran a story with a picture of their Editor kicking a small dog. Then they removed the story from their web site.

It still would be reasonable for The Inquirer to cover this, because the Editor did kick the dog.

Well, if the dog was holding an iPhone, or something. Carrying its owner's iPad home from the newsagent. Wearing a Shuffle on its collar. That makes it technology news.

Re: Aliens are using the Iphone 4

Recant? Of course not! That would set the Inquirer's journalistic integrity as high as that of the Mail, an unthinkable.

P.S. I liked my verification code: ARSFKS. Try saying it.

Aliens are using the Iphone 4

If The Daily Mail has recanted their article, don't you think The Inquirer article should be recanted. The Inquirer is becoming more like the National Inquirer (with ridiculous articles), maybe we will learn next that aliens are using the Iphone 4.
