TEXAN OEM Svtronics has said it will release its Blaze tablet computer this coming August, just in time for the back to school season.
The 10.4-inch tablet is based on a 1GHz Texas Instruments OMAP4430 processor coupled to 1GB RAM. Storage comes in the form a 32GB embedded multimedia card (eMMC). The screen doesn't quite have the stunning characteristics of the Ipad but nevertheless has an adequate resolution of 1024x768.
The Blaze is being pitched at developers who want to get somewhat more creative than Steve Jobs will allow with the Ipad. To that end, the device has the ability to incorporate modules including wireless radios, cameras and even a pico projector. While the Ipad doesn't have a single USB port, the Blaze can be powered through either of two of those on the device.
Actually, it's hard to fathom how the designers managed to fit so much stuff into such a pint-sized device. All that's left is for developers to make use of it all. As the Blaze isn't aimed at the swooning click-wheel generation, the tablet doesn't even ship with what most would recognise as an operating system.
While it might be utilitarian, the Blaze shows just what can be possible if companies promote expandable devices rather than expendable ones. µ
A tablet with a projector, finally it requires REAL skills to actually use a tablet, while normally you have to hold it and then manipulate the screen with the other hand and that might seem hard to amateurs but is actually doable with a year or two, three of practice, but the added challenge of keeping it steady and pointed at a particular spot now that's pro.

The tablet is meant to be sold to developers. It is not meant to be sold to the public. Hence the cost.
Yeah that is a pretty hefty price tag at $2259. Was fairly interested up until then. When are the cheap android tablets with arm processors coming?
