IN THIS VIDEO, we see the first attempts by Samsung to get into the e-reader market, the slide-out E60 and Qwerty-sporting E61. These will hit the UK market at the end of July, with the E60 likely to cost around £299.99. For this price you get capability not available in e-readers out now, according to Samsung, such as a handwriting feature that lets you write notes in a book with a stylus, and the ability to play suitable music from the device speakers while reading your book.

No details for the Samsung bookstore were given, but that should be accessible when the e-readers launch. µ

They should demo the picture function with some B&W pictures or maybe some anime cartoons (that is more popular in the west than one might think).

It's funny btw how an e-ink screens supposedly always needs a full screen refresh and yet when she writes the lines appear immediately without screen refreshes, so clearly when the BG is white adding black needs no refresh, which means that they should use that phenomena more, also they should implement partial screen refreshes since if there's static menu elements or large empty spaces it's not needed to refresh that surely, might speed things up (and reduce slightly annoying flickering), and maybe reduce power even more.

As for the price, a pricewar just started in the US with the nook being dropped to below $200 and the kindle quickly following and you can get them for $170 now I hear, meaning samsung getting into the US market with a price of $299.- is sort of an incredible uphill battle, but luckily the nook and kindle are US products with US philosophies so samsung has the rest of the world to sell to.
