O2 admits it has an Iphone 4 shortage
SHINY TOY MAKER Apple's Iphone 4 will only be available to O2's existing customers, according to the UK mobile network operator.
Customers who do not yet exist, or Iphone virgins who want to sign over their souls and chequebooks to the will of a US technology company, will not be allowed to buy one yet.
O2 tells us that its Iphone stock will be extremely limited in the UK at launch and not everybody who wants one will be able to get one straight away.
It said that it wants to make sure that its current customers will get priority until at least the end of July.
"Whether you're an existing O2 mobile customer looking to upgrade, or one of our broadband customers looking to move your mobile to O2, our Iphone stock is reserved exclusively for you," it said.
Apple is facing supply problems because the touchscreen hardware is running out. Even if the Iphone 4 was amazingly popular, Apple appears to have drained suppliers of touchscreens in the Far East for its Ipad project, and it might be a while before supplies are back to normal. µ

The article contradicts itself. The only logical interpretation of the sentence quoted above is that if you are not an 02 customer OR if you are an 02 customer who does not have an iPhone then you can't have an iPhone 4.

Your statement about iphone virgins not being allowed to get a phone is incorrect! Your correctly state ONLY existing customers will get priority but it DOES NOT say ONLY IPHONE customers. Any O2 customer will recieve priority over non customers. get it right!
