FANBOIS, WEEP into your mocha-choca-cappuccino-lattes, the Iphone 4 won't be shipped out until 2 July.
The original UK ship date was 24 June but the later date has magically appeared on the Apple UK online store with no indication of why the date slipped.
Pop along here and you'll see that the Iphone 3G still has a shipping date of 24 June. But the delivery of Apple's latest shiny toy has been pushed back.
Both models of the Iphone 4 have been given the push. You ain't gonna get your hands on either the £499 16GB Iphone 4 or the £599 32GB Iphone 4 until the first week of July. We also suspect that Apple is dealing with pre-order issues so even if you did sign up, it's possible that you'll still have to wait.
We reported this week that the Iphone 4 will also need a micro-SIM, so Apple acolytes will have to buy a SIM card after purchasing an Iphone 4 directly
Back in May we also reported that Apple had similar problems with the UK launch of the Ipad. µ
Who cares, it's barely an improvement from the 3GS, most improvements of which are kind of pointless... a high res IPS screen on such a small device... why? I don't intend to hold it up to my face to watch movies it can't play or take pictures with the very average 5mp camera. Even the nintendo 3DS 0.3mp camera is more interesting... because it's 3D. The slightly overclocked CPU (yes an A4 is just a refined version of the previous samsung chip) will have its small performance gain eaten by the higher res screen, again making it kind of pointless. Rather than an array mic, a decent speakerphone would have been nice, people can hear me just fine, I just can't hear them.
Aside form the nice finish (which I can't say is ground breakingly amazing) I think Jobs has lost the plot on this one.
Dodgy reporting from The Inquirer.
Apple have (well reported on other sites) sold the initial allocation of 'sim-free' iPhones with the 2nd batch being made available on the 2nd July. The mobile operators are yet to start selling their preorder stock.
Maybe do some research before making up news?
Hi - the iPhone 4 is not delayed in the UK. The initial shipment is sold out and now, should someone wish to purchase one, he or she will need to wait for the second shipment on the 2nd of July. This applies, so far as I know, to the sim-free option available via Apple and does not impact those who will purchase their iPhone 4 from a network.
This is not the same problem as with the iPad which was delayed before pre-orders opened due to high demand in the USA.
