Nokia releases Xseries smartphones

Hip to be square
Mon Jun 14 2010, 11:20

FINNISH PHONE MAKER Nokia has launched two Xseries consumer smartphones.

The X5-01 model and the Nokia X6 8GB are square boxes that look more like Minidisc players. This might be mostly because both phones are more like mp3 players with phone functions. The phones have connections to Nokia's Ovi Music service.

The two phones also have a social notworking theme. There's a full qwerty keyboard under the dashboard just in case you want to tweet at any given moment.

They support all the major instant messaging and webmail services out of the box and offer easy access to the social networking sites Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and Hi5.

There is also a 5 megapixel camera with a 4X digital zoom and an LED flash. Battery life is up to 16 days standby time or 24 hours of music playback from a full charge.

The X5 has estimated retail price of €165. However we are not sure if it will ever arrive over here. We are still waiting for Nokia's high end N8 smartphone. µ

It amazes me

how an article like this can go without any picture and/or link.

Now I have to search or go to the nokia website to see the phone and/or read its specs.

Thumbs down
