TINY INDIAN TABLET MAKER Notion Ink is telling the world plus dog to ignore rumours that its products will be delayed until November.
Writing in his blog, Rohan Shravan said that the rumours were not true.
He said that the firm's cunning plan to release the Adam tablet is going according to plan.
This probably means that Adam will be launched in a couple of months and will have a staggered rollout all over the world. The tablet is expected to do well in India, which will be the first country to see it.
Shravan said that the company has closed its final round of funding. "This is extremely good news for everyone. I say that, because if we have global ambitions, there must be someone who can help us achieve that. And now we have got the muscle power," he said.
The Adam is an Nvidia Tegra 2 powered Android tablet that uses Pixel Qi screen technology. This means that unlike the Ipad you can read it outdoors when the sun is shining.
There will also be a cheaper version of the Notion Ink tablet with a normal LCD screen that will be available for users who don't plan on doing too much reading. Shravan has hinted at a third variation as well, which is supposed to run on a mysterious battery efficient system.
"We have done some good work to get the devices out at yet more aggressive price which we were aiming for," he said. µ
This kind of nonsense talk about the specs without any specifics is what ails the nation, that we have programmers in every world software company but NOT one Indian commercial product- other than Tally. NotionInk should just shut the F up and launch the product when ever they get the things up and running.
I want to buy one for my son, and I dont even know how long to wait for one.
Sad.

Who cares if you say it is going to ship. All that matters is the day after it ships. So best to rollup your sleeves and ship a working and supportable product. Until then rumours are worthless. I am looking for a shipping android tablet not a tablet that is going to ship.
Most important thing you can do Adam is have a working product that people can use. Your competitor is not some other android tablet it is the iPad. Whohoo.
The plain LCD one will undoubtedly be the first to release, with the Pixel Qi edition delayed indefinitely as the vapourware that technology has proven to be as far as production is concerned. Just see if it ain't true. Shame though.
