Blackberry clamshell video appears

Eyes on a hands on

THE RUMOURED Blackberry clamshell handset has appeared on driphter.com, along with a video of what it looks like and how it plays.

The video shows a clamshell handset with two screens, one on the outside and one on the inside. When closed the outside screen shows the time, as well as other information such as how much charge is left and, we presume, who is calling, should anyone actually phone you. The inside screen, well, you can probably work that out for yourself.

This is a Blackberry handset and the logos and interface on this 9670 model are pretty much as you would expect, except of course for the fact that it is running version 6 of the Blackberry operating system. On the video you can see subtle differences in the interface, but nothing particularly major. All in, things do look a little nicer, though.

According to the video, "the phone works just like any other phone", and for the most part, "the functionality remains the same". There are some tweaks, though. For example, you can create different profiles a little easier and navigation has been improved.

Not much has changed so far as we can tell on the phone, except of course its clamshell design, which these days looks a little tired.

It's not all retro stylings though, as the Blackberry 9670 has made room for a 5MP camera and a touchscreeen, 512MB of internal memory, and predictably a MicroSD slot. µ
