ONLINE BOOKSELLER Amazon has announced it is delaying the release of Kindle 2.5 by a few weeks
The company said it pushed back the version 2.5 release of Kindle to make some enhancements, in a blog post on the reasons for the roll-back. Naturally, it's all about improving customer experience and everything is working fine and dandy so there really is no reason to worry at all.
"We've rolled out the 2.5 software release to a set of Kindle customers and have received great feedback from these early customers," said an anonymous Amazon spokesblogger. "Based on this feedback, we are making some small adjustments to improve the experience further. We will be rolling out the 2.5 software update to more users over the coming weeks."
Amazon then went on to list several of the tweaked features it hopes to embed into Kindle 2.5. Books and documents will be organised in to one or more collections. PDF will have an added pan and zoom feature.
Kindle 2.5 will also have integrated password protection and a wider array of fonts for a more comfortable viewing experience. Finally, Amazon has added a not too surprising social-notworking feature so you can use Facebook and Twitter directly from the Kindle. µ
So your talking about software and not hardware :(
Too bad, since students who tried school books on the kindle found it too slow when flipping pages with illustrated books.
Lets hope for a faster version, then perhaps we can get somewhere with this type of tech, perhaps be able to buy magazines in pdf or simmilar for this device.
