WHAT WIND has got to do with a tablet is anyone's guess but Micro-Star International (MSI) has named its pad product after the earthly element. With a few minutes to spare for The INQUIRER, MSI sales representative Neil gave a demonstration of the Apple Ipad challenger at Computex 2010. MSI claims the Wind-Pad has eight hours of battery life, multi-touch control, uses Windows 7, weighs 800g, and has 3G and WiFi wireless transfer plus USB and HDMI ports. The version Neil demonstrated is an "engineering sample" running Android 2.1 and he says an Android 2.2 operating Wind-Pad will be available in the first quarter 2011. µ
Sorry to bang on about it, but if this thing comes with a choice of Windows OR Android......
Are customers going to have to ask the question every time, "Is this Windows 7 or is it Windows Embedded Compact 7 which is not actually Windows 7?"
If it IS Windows 7 (definition: OpenOffice works) then I may wish to own this product. Less likely if not.
Where is the video?
