RUMOURS ABOUT Apple's Iphone 4.0 screen technology have consolidated as suppliers have let slip about specifications and features.
According to sources at Digitimes, suppliers charged with building some of the next Iphone's components have leaked details of its improved screen technology. The secretive Cupertino company's fanbois will be weeping tears of joy into their double mocha latte espressos with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles.
Digitimes senior analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed that the updated screen will use in-plane switching panels with fringe-field switching. This should give Iphone users a clearer screen with a wider viewing angle so they will be able to see clearly the halo of Steve Jobs' glowing visage.
LG is making the panel for the Iphone and the resolution has been upped to 960x640. This is twice the resolution of the previous Iphone and is more than Android's default of 854x480.
The Iphone 4.0 will have 512MB of RAM, an Arm Cortex A8 processor and is expected to be thinner. Sources reckon its internals will be 33 per cent slimmer, making room for a bigger battery so it will have longer battery life.
If these claims are true, surely the Iphone 4G will be in direct contention with Apple's e-book functionality in its Ipads. It should also put Apple in a better position to take on HTC's recent smartphone home runs. But it will mean that Apple will be doing so at the risk of competing with the feature set of its larger Ipad. µ
I just found out that the glass screen will come in white or black. I would go for the black, but Apple does have alot of thing that are white. And repair companies like http://www.fix-iphones.com are already getting ready for people to break them like all the other iphones with the glass screen. You think they could find a hard clear plastic that could be scratch resistant, and not break when you drop it.
Steve Jobs
You my friend are "The Cat's Pajama's"
I see your iphone, and raise you a newton.
Poor booboo did some author on a random website hurt feely-feels? Seriously though. I see parallels between your reply and that of Al Quaida trying to react all outraged when someone offends their mohammed dude.
I just have to say i love the INQ and all you guys that tear into all the girls that love their maxIpads and jobsware. Are we insulting you with our comments? I always thought you were insulting yourself when you settled for overpriced hardware that is destined to go the way of the dinosaurs, again... hmm. And yes, we are envious of him. We'd all like to have his job so we can turn that ship around. But since that will never happen we'll just have to be content to watch it crash and burn. oh well
Steve aka "Iamfedup" nice how you add an "I" in your name. Sorry you feel bad that everyone miss spells the name of the new MaxIpad or the Ifone but thier just seems to be fixes going on. I still cant do anything with my Ifone without itunes. I miss my BB and Going for an HTC EVO great price and not tied to itunes to move image, music and i would say files but ifone does not do files... iCrap is a good name for it...

iamfedup, now come Steve we all know its you. Don't get into a hissy fit and spill your latte.
You appear to have stumbled across the wrong website, my friend.
Spencer Dalziel, would you please just present the facts and news with style and class, and spare us your sarcastic sneers about persons who buy and use Apple products. Are you a reporter/journalist or a sarcastic jerk from the Bronx? (You earned the name "jerk" so I'm applying it to you.)
Your subtitle "No app to plug leaks" is a cheap attack against Apple and its legitimate attempt to keep its unreleased products confidential (thereby making your job more difficult).
Your statement, "fanbois will be weeping tears of joy into their double mocha latte espressos with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles," is plain stupid. I don't drink any coffee, but I like advanced technology that is a joy to use, such as Apple's iPhone. Don't degrade those of use who like Apple products by calling us "fanbois." Try calling us Apple aficionados or technophiles.
Your sentence, "This should give Iphone users a clearer screen with a wider viewing angle so they will be able to see clearly the halo of Steve Jobs' glowing visage." is degrading to users of Apple products and to Steve Jobs. Do you want us to read your articles which you get paid to write? Then don't insult us! Are you jealous and envious of Steve Jobs, so you slyly insult him? If it wasn't for Steve Jobs commercializing and popularizing the graphical user interface and personal computers, you would probably be typing on a typewriter, instead of using an advanced, easy-to-use personal computer with a GUI. Lastly, the name of the product that you were writing about is iPhone (not "Iphone").
...it did. See the last Para. Doubly fail on you.
Umm...Ipad is actually the last word in the article. Who didn't read the whole thing now?
You guys never fully read the article. The article never mentioned anything about the iPad....
"His point was that the author's flame comments were not needed. The inquirer loves to throw in BS comments like that in order to get a rise out of people..."
Okay, I'm confused, are defending his right to be offended, or attacking him for being a complete n00b and rising to the usual Inq flame bait?
Sure it's getting old, but as long as there are Appletards out there still conforming to the <aol Me too</aol stereotype, TheInq will continue to feed them!
Ipad has a res of 1024 x 768, so higher than Iphone.
And Seth - it was a joke. A very good one I might add.
..and posting it from an iPhone 3gs
i loved that commend :)
His point was that the author's flame comments were not needed. The inquirer loves to throw in BS comments like that in order to get a rise out of people... It is getting old. Perhaps they should try quality journalism instead, if they are even capable - I doubt that they are.
Oh come on, that piece of text was down right objective, considering it's coming from tehINQ.
Also, have a cookie!
Touchy, did someone forget your chocolate sprinkles this morning?
So the iphone 4.0 will have a higher screen resolution than the ipad then?
