Virgin Media signs up for the HTC Wildfire phone

PRESS OFFICERS seem to be leaning on Twitter these days to get their announcements out.

Virgin Media tweeted that it is going to offer HTC's Wildfire phone when it comes out and that was the end of the announcement. So pleased with the new phone, Virgin Media could not quite stretch to put out a press release.

Okay, there was not much it could have said, but perhaps a few lines saying that it will be nice to have a smartphone that will make it easier to talk with your social notworking groups and visit Flash sites would have been good.

So for those of you that are interested, HTC says the handset will likely be available from July, but unfortunately no one, Virgin Media included, has any tariff information.

The HTC Wildfire smartphone is expected to be very nice and will be the cheap as chips alternative to HTC's Desire and Legend models. µ
