STREAK OR MINI5, TAKE YOUR PICK of name, but Dell's Android based 5-inch touchscreen e-book reader will land on the shores of Europe in June.
With no prices revealed yet, the device will be available with pan-European mobile operator Telefonica O2, according to media reports, while larger 7- and 10-inch versions are also said to be under development.
The INQUIRER reported in March that the Streak, or Mini5 will have a 5-inch WVGA 800x480 touchscreen, a five-megapixel camera, touch buttons and a VGA camera for video chatting at the top of the screen plus a dock connector.
A leaked flyer with images of the device revealed a rainbow livery with an array of colours available, from metallic grey through dark blue, red, pink and two orange design flavours.
At Citrix Systems' Synergy conference in San Francisco, Dell CEO Michael Dell showed the e-book reader running Citrix Receiver, a virtualization client that allows devices to run Windows desktop applications from a central server.
He told the audience that the device also had Twitter and Facebook. The Streak e-reader will also run Flash. µ
it may have an app for that but its not 'just' that....
You wanna see my 5-inch Streak thing?
"Streak" is an unfortunate name. Especially for something that will be kept in one's pants.
