Microsoft plans a small patch Tuesday

Just two bugs fixed
Fri May 07 2010, 11:27

SOFTWARE FLOGGER Microsoft has announced what bugs it will fix in its "patch Tuesday" for May next week.

The Vole said it will release two security bulletins addressing one vulnerability each, along with the updates to repair them. Both vulnerabilities are rated critical.

The first update fixes a flaw in Windows which is critical in all versions other than Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.

The second update addresses a flaw that affects Microsoft Office, for which it is rated important, and Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), for which it is rated critical. It looks like the actual vulnerability is in VBA, which is a component of Office, but not a mandatory one.

The usual new version of the Vole's Malicious Software Removal Tool and an update to the Windows Mail Junk Mail filter will also be released.

So not too much to worry about, then. That is, unless the patches break your system. µ
