TAIWANESE NOTEBOOK MAKER MSI launched its CX705MX laptop with ATI's top of the line Radeon HD545V graphics.

MSI's 17.5-inch desktop replacement has a 1600x900 LED backlit display. The company has gone for the currently fashionable chiclet keyboard and a scratch resistant crosshatch design on its lid and wrist area.

ATI's discrete Radeon HD545V GPU should make the most of that display, if it's as good as it looks on paper, and MSI claims it offers excellent multimedia performance, as one would expect.

Despite being a desktop replacement, MSI has kept the weight of the notebook under 3kg. It has dual two watt speakers and a sub-woofer underneath.

While MSI hasn't given out much more than that, rumours online suggest it will come with an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, a 500GB hard drive and Windows 7 Home Premium.

There's no mention of how many cells the battery will have and MSI has not yet announced a UK price or release date. µ

The Radeon HD545V is hardly "top of the line"...

Also isn't the screen 17.3"?
