IF YOU'VE EVER WONDERED who ranks as the most important or influential writers about science and technology, a list that purports to have identified them has turned up.
We agree with some of the choices, say, Isaac Asimov, for instance, but some of the others we're not so sure about and there are a couple of names listed that, well, let's just say we were rather a bit surprised.
Follow the link to see whether you agree with V3's list of the "Top 10 science and technology writers". µ
Please can The Inq just provide us with the full list without the dull text, and if we find the list interesting then we can click the link.
But V3 is 'kin dull, I'd like to know what the list is but since the other V3 lists have been crap I know it's not worth my time going to look.
And I bet it's still 2 names per page, right? Padding. Padding. Padding, it really makes users want to come back, padding, it makes readers content.
Padding sucks.
Stumbling Along on Edit, thats when ALL Legal torts Are Edited Out, today. Al Pacino told mcUltee', Tom think about it, 2 Million Pixels per screen, 12 Screens = 24 Mllion Pixels, Like First Stated.
So, well. Guess Won't need theMOON Dusted with Reflectorizor. Then Thought & Eye Thought:
Hummm, Go Crosssfire Hybred. Maybe sli in some cases. Three Eyefinity XII Cards.12 x 3 or 36 Screens x 2 Mp = 72 Mega Pixels. With some of Last Thoughts at Impact. thats 4 26" diagonal screens plus in 12 screen deal. or about 108", twelve times crisper. TOAST.
Leaving small fry Past to NEW 36 hdmi output/Input thru crossfire hybrd 4 108" up & 8 108" horisontal Or about 36 feet of Diagonal space, still ALL as sharp as todays hdmi 1080P, just Very BIG..
Kroft Looked Confused, yet always smiles on Hollywood Blvd, Hoping Scream "Hi,Steve". Well, Heres Poker. NO transmission Abiltiy. take 40 Gb/s. Straight rom Computer to Screen, ALL Straight from Producers Vault thru yet to finalized equipment to Viewers Home Screen. No Middle Man Scams. Maybe Rap by X Rated X BULLDOZR.
so from 24 MegaPixel to 72 Megapixel. Need 36 hdmi inputs to make show look uniform throughout on Giant Home 36 Foot LCD. NO Crummy edges, Just Pure Glamour.
Think My Medicine Kicked IN.
So NO Mout Rushmore, No Side of Building Just 108" or Larger. Yet, Clarity of Mind. pureity of Thought. Fantastic Cost, Should Bring ME Up for Oscar or Nobel. FORGET Old Book Worm Eaten Past. McUltee' Has Something Entirely NEW. C McTS.

His writings in the 50's were the basis for the ground breaking movie 2001 A Space Odyssey, which gave us the concept of AI and it's possible negatives like it trying to kill us, which we still reference. Then there's orbiting communication satellites which report our world weather patterns, transmit tv signals, sat phones, telescopes, Internet, etc. Then there's the idea for the space elevator (which I think isn't practical but scientists still have it as a possible option for the future.)
What a load of rubbish. How can you possibly compare scientists like Einstein and Newton with technology writers like Guy Kewney?
If Guy Kewney was still alive, he'd be laughing his socks off (or maybe not - I think he was known for not wearing them). As it stands this is just ridiculous.
If somebody wants to write about great science and technology writers (and communicators), then fair enough - but find room for some of the great communicators like Jacob Bronowski or the incomparable Richard Feynman who could do the science as well.
Just leave the pure scientists in a category of their own. After all, unless you could read Latin you'd have a great deal of trouble with Newton's writings.
THIS STUPID ARTICLE IS INTERRUPTING MY IPAD COVERAGE, DANGIT!
FOR INSTANCE, I WANT TO KNOW HOW TO CONVERT MY IPAD TO A DIGITAL PHOTO FRAME, BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE THE SAME DANG THING, AFTER ALL.
PLUS I CAN SHOW OFF TO ALL MY FRIENDS, LOOKIT MY DIGITAL PHOTO FRAME ITS ACTUALLY AN IPAD RUNNING THIS ONE APP.
ON SECOND THOUGHT SOME CHEEKY BUGGER WILL STEEL IT FOR HIS OWN STUPID-ASS DIGITAL PHOTOS, DANG IT.
Ho hum, another top-10 list from the INQ's "sister site" V3. I should've guessed it from the title. This is not news; this is a waste of time. I don't know what's worse, the articles citing BBC technology articles, or these V3 links.
