APPLE HAS REPORTED that it could do no wrong last quarter and was still finding that lots of people were handing over money for its products.
The fruit themed outfit said that its profits went through the roof with a 90 per cent gain in fiscal second quarter profit. The money was rolling in from the Iphone and Macs.
Net income rose to $3.07 billion, up from $1.62 billion a year earlier. The Cupertino based company said that its sales gained 49 per cent to $13.5 billion, which was well above any Wall Street analyst prediction.
The company shipped 8.75 million Iphones, 2.94 million Macs and 10.9 million Ipods last quarter.
Apple has a habit of predicting doom and gloom for the company and often goes on to surpass its projection.
Sales this quarter will be boosted by the Ipad, as Jobs' mob claims it flogged 500,000 Ipads in the first week after its US debut. It has said strong Ipad sales led to a shortage, which has seen Apple divert global sales to the US and delay the worldwide launch.
Apple does not seem to have worried about the recession, and has risen above charges that its products sometimes haven't worked and are over-priced, over-controlled and lacking security. µ
29 million products sold in 1st Quarter not everyone one owns an Apple product but we are gaining in every segment of the market. Resistance is Futile.
Let's put this in context though. MOST people do not own Apple products!!!
This is why I own Apple stock, not Apple products.
Apple must be doing something right, because the INQ talks about it every single day.
Talk about free publicity!
I don't really have anything to talk about. I just figured I'd smack talk Apple and watch the fireworks fly.
when i listen to him speak, i find myself unable to resist the urge to open my wallet and give my cash to the nearest apple product peddler.
i know i dont want any of their items but his voice... its just... so enchanting.
it also makes me want to rabidly argue in favour of apple products even though i know them to be flawed.
i think i am changing into a fanboi
