that the list is his opinion...A very VERY uninformed opinion. I see at least two systems that shouldn't be in the top ten...and one of those is ranked #1...And the ones he DOES have right are terribly out of the order they should be in.

Seriously, the MegaDrive the #1 system of all time? That's just rubbish. And where's the NES? The Dreamcast? And the Gameboy is only number 7? Seriously, you know anyone who grew up in the 90s who didn't eiher have or want a GameBoy?

i really liked my pc-engine at the time but very few people had heard of them.
my favourite game was in foreign so i dont know the name but it starred 2 far-eastern men in suits that would fart and urinate - all manner of toilet humour!
i called it "farting chinky brothers"

V3 own The Inq, hence the cross promotion, no other reason.

PS3, Wii and DS in a top 10 list?

Where's the N64 and Dreamcast, consoles that did way more than the above consoles to change and shape gaming, with the first analogue controls, Dreamcast with the first decent online, first analogue triggers, and more games I'd want top play again than everything exclusive to the PS3.

Still, what can you do, it's clearly a list based on personal experience and nothing else.

And yes, I'd rank the SNES above the Mega Drive.

Um...why does the Inquirer keep posting a link to what appears to a blog consisting of top 10 lists from a guy with EXTREMELY questionable knowledge. Who is David Neal?? Why does his fanboy list warrant reporting on the Inquirer??

Seriously. I don't know anything about "V3" or it's authors....

Why do you guys still link to them, they cant even get their facts straight...

e-book wannabee, dual touch-screen, brain training DS

dual touch-screen...WTF? has the author even seen a DS? And since when was it an e-book wannabe? I may be wrong but I have never seen an official "game" for it designed to function on it as an e-book reader (seen plenty of homebrew)

The list missed all the first and second generation consoles.

No Atari 2600, Bally Arcade System, or IntelliVision?

Come on guys, at least try to do your homework if you make up a list like that. I could get a more thorough list from my 10 year old nephew. And Inq, don't bother pointing to such stupid lists any more, you've wasted enough of our time already.

2. Sega Genesis
1. Super Nintendo

I don't think the asshole that wrote this article (not the Inq guy, the V3 guy) is above the age of 20.
