June looks likely for Iphone 4G launch

Apple plans another Nuremberg rally
Fri Apr 16 2010, 12:20

THE GLORIOUS REGIME of Apple which will last for a thousand years will stage another one of its spectacularly cool rallies on June 22.

The US press will pay rapt attention and above all print every word from the rally as hundreds of cheering black shirts look on.

Apple is of course not saying why it is booking the Yerba Buena Centre for the Arts in San Francisco. However it likes to use the Center for the Arts as the venue for its new product announcements and releases.

It was last seen when Steve Jobs showed off his "game changing" netbook without a keyboard earlier this year.

This time the product is likely to be another Iphone. June is usually when Apple releases its Iphone schedule. The original Iphone was shown off in late June 2007, while the Iphone 3G and 3GS were announced in June as well.

Recently Apple has been talking up its latest Iphone operating system version that can do multitasking, as well as its upcoming Iads advertising operation.

Needless to say there will be a lot of really dull speculation in the tame US press, particularly the New York Times, whose pro-Apple coverage has been getting sillier lately. We are starting to expect to see "Steve Jobs: Trumph of the Will" headlines there any day now. µ

Doh

I meant inverted commas, to avoid confusion.

Can I just point out that it is never acceptable to use more than one exclamation mark. Indeed, when did commas become replaced by stars?

almost maybe a fair point about spelling of Intel CPU model numbers

It's almost a fair point to make comment about whether Inq editorial policy should also demand capitalisation of the 'I' in Intel processor model numbers.

However, the point is that these are model numbers and not names. The distinction is subtle, or rather it's conflicted because there is an overlap between the purpose and actuality of model names and brand names. Discuss...

And Travis, no one has said that this Iphone is called '4G' ... I would refer to it as Iphone 4 until we know what the Appleheads want to brand it as - so stick to writing songs!

Proper nouns have the 1st letter capitalised and no other

THE CORRECT SPELLING OF A PROPER NOUN IS WITH CAPITALISATION OF THE ***FIRST*** LETTER AND ***ONLY*** OF THE FIRST LETTER!!!!!

(in English)

Worst Model Moniker EVER

So .. the iPhone 4G/4GS. Which, incidentally isn't 4G capable at all. AT&T has confirmed no 4G on their network until late 2011/early 2012.

With their release schedule that means the iPhone 6G will be available when 4G service makes its debut.

I'm confused already.

i?

@Crapular

Speaking of Intel, as you brought it up, how do they spell their latest line of processors?

i3 i5 i7.

The correct spelling is in fact iPhone as it is a proper noun and brand name. A bit like Toys 'R' Us. Nick et al like to think they're 'edgy' by refusing to spell it correctly, but they'll happily use the aforementioned spelling for Intel processors.

Or...

St Steve may be planning a direct accent to Iheaven, which he will recast into Ihell, with his game changing plans.

And yes, the CORRECT spelling of Iphone is just that. Do you spell Intel with a backwards "e"?
