SOCIAL NOTWORKING APPLICATION Twitter is now available for Blackberrys as a public beta.
The Crackberry, the world's most ruthlessly proficient business mobile, finally gets an efficiency impediment in the form of Twitter.
Research in Motion (RIM) had its Twitter client in private beta for a few months on a by invitation only basis. But RIM has gone public and added a host of new features so you can pop along and try it out.
The application offers comprehensive direct messaging support via Blackberry Push. Users receive messages in real time and tweet pop up notifications plus list management have been developed. Users can post links to Twitter through the Blackberry's web browser as well as upload pictures.
RIM has added profile editing and enlarged profile avatar viewing to optimise the interface for the Blackberry display. RIM also claims to have improved overall performance and has included trend searches and the ability to find and follow friends.
The Blackberry Twitter client is still far from a final product and RIM hasn't mentioned when it expects to release the service. µ
