CHIPMAKER Intel is expanding its push into the netbook arena with the launch of the Appup Center Beta.
The app store portal will give users of Atom based netbooks running the company's Moblin 2.1 open source operating system access to a range of applications, including games, productivity, entertainment and social media tools designed to run on the lightweight platform as part of Chipzilla's Atom Developer Program.
Currently only Moblin users can access the app store, but future updates will add support for Meego as well as other smartphones and portable devices.
The Intel Appup Centre Beta goes live today in the US and Canada and will be coming to 27 European countries at the end of the month. µ

I think this is more for the silly Windows users than the Linux ones. Especially considering you sadly have to work to find a netbook with Linux on it anymore.
Linux users already have Kpackagekit, or the Ubuntu software center, etc. I'm not too sure how receptive they'd be of another software management system.
