CHINESE PC MANUFACTURER Hanvon will be launching a multi-touch tablet in China, according to Engadget.
While there were a number of so-so tablets unveiled at CeBIT this year, only a few looked worth investigating and Hanvon's Touchpad BC10C was one.
A preview sample of Hanvon's Touchpad BC10C was reviewed here over the weekend. Hanvon has obviously decided to make its tablet a full performance model thanks to a full HD screen, rather than just a simple mobile connected device for browsing, emails and messaging contacts. It does, however, come with five embedded programmable keys for such functions on the side of the casing.
The JKK Mobile review has a list of specifications and features for the Touchpad BC10C. It's a ten-inch multi-touch tablet with a 1.3GHz Intel ULV743 CPU and 2GB of RAM. The 250GB or 320GB hard drive and RAM can be upgraded and the GPU is a Intel GMA 4500 so it should be able to cope well enough with 3D graphics. It also has a web cam and comes with Windows Home Premium. At 980g it won't be the lightest tablet but Hanvon made the most of the display space so it's probably worth the extra weight and size.
Hanvon hasn't issued any foreign release information but it is due to launch in China for the equivalent of £582.82. µ
