IT'S NOT LEAKING at Engadget, it's positively raining.
The unattributed disclosures keep coming about Dell's e-book or slate or consumer tablet, depending on how many mobile connected device boxes you want to check off. This time the update is a rainbow livery spotted in a leaked flyer.
Streak is Dell's internal codename for its stab at the ever more crowded e-book market where surely there's only standing room left. Sources close to Dell have already given some very specific information on features and specifications for Streak. The 5-inch WVGA 800x480 touchscreen is a much smaller play for Dell. We guess that's a savvy get out clause so Dell's not directly competitive with Apple's Ipad, Microsoft's Courier and HP's Slate, making it more of a truly mobile device. It reportedly will also have a 5 megapixel camera, touch buttons and a VGA camera for video chatting at the top of the screen, plus a dock connector.
Dell has always used a stack of colour options for its consumer kit and Streak, that is, Mini5, is no exception. It will come in array of colours from metallic grey through dark blue, red, pink and two orange pink design flavours.
Naturally there's no shipping date or pricing yet but sources say Dell has already signed a content partnership deal with Amazon. µ
