Now you can read on multiple divices

ONLINE FLOGGER OF BOOKS Amazon has decided to release a free application that runs the Kindle software on a BlackBerry.

The app means that you do not need to have a Kindle on hand. The app automatically synchronizes your last page read and annotations between devices using Amazon's 'Whispersync'.

It allows you to create bookmarks and view annotations you created on your Kindle in past, and makes it possible to use your Kindle, PC and BlackBerry to access the same Kindle e-book content.

As with the Kindle itself, Amazon will allow you to preview the first chapter of Kindle e-books before purchasing, but newspapers, magazines and blogs will not be accessible via the Kindle for BlackBerry app.

The app is available for the BlackBerry Curve 8520 and 8900, Bold 9000 and 9700, Storm 9530/Storm2 9550 and the Tour 9630.

Of course it is not available in Blighty yet. The International Edition of Kindle will not run it unless you register yourself as having a US address on your Amazon.com account. µ

Would I be breaking the law...

if I were to offer a service where Europeans could use my address for the Kindle app and I promised to forward anything that didn't look like pure advertising?
