AT ITS STAND at Mobile World Congress, Japanese mobile operator NTT Docomo is demonstrating an eye controlled earphone system.
The remarkable setup uses tiny sensors embedded in the earphones to detect tiny changes in electrical current that occur when we move our eyeballs. The signals can then be interpreted to, for example, control a media player.
The device is something from Docomo's research department and the company has no plans to actually turn into a product, which is a little disappointing, especially when you're crammed into a tube on the way to work and can't move to reach your Ipod. µ
If extended, this could be very helpful for people with severe ALS.

someone else will make it and do a deal for the patent?
It looks like a fascinating technology with good comedic potential.
