Apple Aperture 3 has memory leaks
FRUITY TOYMAKER Apple's photo-editing and organising application Aperture 3 that it launched last week appears to be having some teething problems.
The software had only just arrived when Jobs' Mob sent out a 64MB patch. But now Apple bulletin boards are filling with complaints that the application has serious memory leaks.
Aperture 3 received glowing reviews. While praising its 200 new features, none of the reviewers seemed to notice the memory leaks gobbling up Mac OS X virtual memory. We guess that it was not on the press release that Apple sent them.
As a result the system becomes unstable and eventually crashes.
Users posting at Apple Support Forums report that their swap disk file size balloons as soon as the program is launched. Aperture 3 reportedly also has problems with Faces recognition functions.
Apple is adopting its usual position when it ships something that breaks or is otherwise shonky. It is sticking its fingers in its ears and going la la la while not admitting that there's any problem.
So far apparently no one is wondering how Apple managed to release this application, which is priced at $199, in this state without adequate quality assurance testing. µ

Yes I am a (very) long to PC/*NIX/Mac user so been classified as a fanboi is plain laughable :) These pathetic little rants by Master iCUNT really are rather tiresome, the boy could not write his way out of a wet paper bag!

Clearly, what you want is not just a review, but a "glowing" review, and anything about problems is not to be mentioned.

"Aperture 3 received glowing reviews." - could you please supply any link, I tried to google for any and couldn't find at least one. would be much appreciated as I'm considering purchase of it but need to see some reviews as currently i'm using both aperture 2 and lightroom and it's quite costly setup. need decide for one of them
