Welsh auditor left job after laptop audit

A REPORT at the BBC tells us that a former Auditor in Wales is being investigated by the police.

Jeremy Colman, formerly the head of public spending at the Audit Office, resigned yesterday after some dubious material was found on his laptop. Now it appears his former employers have reported him to the police. We guess that as long as no one tells his wife he'll be just fine.

The BBC tell us that initially Colman was leaving on health grounds, but apparently it was unhealthy things that led to him losing his cushy £170k a year position, which was guaranteed until at least 2012.

Seemingly seeking to make matters as bad as possible for Colman, the BBC phoned the South Wales police who confirmed that they were looking into some sort of investigation about inappropriate material, but could not name who it was investigating.

Can you hear that noise? It's the sound of web browser history caches being cleaned out in government offices throughout the UK. Just in case. µ
