Techcrunch cursed by Joojoo

A HANDBAGS AT DAWN fight between the US news site Techcrunch and Singaporean start-up Fusion Garage over a tablet PC has ended up in court.

The scrap is over a tablet that they jointly developed, called the JooJoo.

The JooJoo was originally called the Crunchpad by Techcrunch founder Michael Arrington, who came up with the idea. However the pair fell out just before the Crunchpad was going to be launched.

Fusion Garage founder Chandrasekher Rathakrishnan gave journalists a first look at the JooJoo tablet in a video conference in December and Techcrunch was furious. It said that Fusion Garage used fraud and deceit to take over the project.

The lawsuit is in the discovery process at the moment. Fusion Garage has filed a motion to dismiss the case. µ
