Lenovo's roadmap leaks

Possible new chassis design for Lenovo's business laptops

CHINESE NOTEBOOK OUTFIT Lenovo has unwittingly let one of its 2010 roadmaps leak out with a host of new models, according to Engadget.

The stray roadmap offers image shots of several previously announced models including the X201 tablet and the X201/X201s ultraportables, the W701 performance workstation, and the L400 and L500 corporate mainstream laptops.

The L400 and L500 are entirely new additions and since there's no mention of updates to Lenovo's current R series corporate mainstream notebooks it's possible that they will be designed on a new chassis base.

As for specifications, your guess is as good as ours because there are no speeds and feeds breakdowns on the roadmap slide. There's certainly no information available for the L400 and L500 but the X201 looks to be an iterative upgrade of the X200 Lenovo released last year.

However, the W701 performance workstation was leaked as long ago as November last year and was kitted with a 2GHz Intel CPU, 320GB Fujitsu HDD, and a Samsung-made 17-inch WUXGA 1920x1200 display, making it a hot model. µ

LOS ANGELES—A law-enforcement official says prosecutors plan to charge Michael Jackson's doctor with manslaughter rather than take the case to a grand jury.

The official told the Associated Press on Tuesday that prosecutors will file a criminal complaint against Dr. Conrad Murray in court.

The complaint would be the prelude to a hearing in which a judge would weigh testimony from witnesses to decide if there is probable cause to try him on an involuntary manslaughter charge.

Mr. Jackson died June 25 from an anesthetic overdose.

IBM/Lenovo Yamato Lab

Hope they can keep the Yamato Lab design (Thinkpad design, not just the Thinkpad logo). As Yamato/Thinkpad design are proven reliability.
