China gives thumbs up to Android

Says it is mostly harmless
Thu Jan 28 2010, 10:37

THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC of China has endorsed Android, the Linux based open source mobile operating system made by Google.

There had been fears that the morals of the Chinese workers would be gravely affected by the software. The Chinese leadership even launched an investigation into the dangers of long term exposure to Android. For some time many thought that Android would be banned in China, just as the country has banned the use of Microsoft Windows by its government workers.

This was particularly true after Google just lately revealed itself as an enemy of the glorious revolution by its imperialist posturing over a small hacking problem it recently had.

However China's government has extended the hand of goodwill to Google and said it would not prohibit use of the Android operating system for mobile devices by Chinese telecommunications operators.

A Hero of the Workers at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology proclaimed that all was well.

There is even talk that the wonderful Chinese government may graciously allow Google to continue pushing lies about Tibet as well as pornography through its evil imperialist search engine.

The fact that the Chinese telecoms want to use Android as a cheap way to get decent smartphones with no strings attached Western technology onboard apparently had nothing to do with this. µ

On this site there is another article that says China have fcuked Google Android.

And it says that 3 phones were due to launch with Android, but all have pulled back. 2 have cancelled and the last one has "technical difficulties" that mean the phone might not make it to customers.

China "WTFPWNING everyone online". Who would have predicted that 10 years ago?
