Johnny Depp is alive and kicking

In other news, astronauts can tweet

THE TIME SINK of Twitter is a wonderful place to keep up with your friends and interests. Or if you prefer, waste your idle time snooping on other people whom you don't even know.

Just recently we have seen it used both in a malicious manner, to create and spread the rumour that Johnny Depp is dead, and in a pretty good way, to send a message from space.

In the latter case, Flight Engineer T J Creamer, of the International Space Station, has presumably just topped up his pay as you go phone, as he has posted the first tweet from space. Previously the Major Toms had only been able to message ground control, which has then passed on any tweets.

Creamer, who is on board Nasa Expedition 22, wrote, ""Hello Twitterverse! We r now LIVE tweeting from the International Space Station - the 1st live tweet from Space! :) More soon, send your ?s."

The message was made possible through the use of a new network, the Crew Support LAN, which according to reports was put in place to improve conditions up there. We'll look forward to their Facebook updates, and better use of grammar.

As for Depp, he has been the victim of a terrible online hoax that has been used to spread malware.

Graham Cluley, who by the looks of things is a bit of a fan, wrote, "Innocent Internet users were fooled by the hoax, spreading messages to their online friends that the popular film star, who lives in France with his partner Vanessa Paradis, had come to a tragic end at the side of a road in Bordeaux."

The online hoax attempted to lure users to visiting a fake CNN web page that was riddled with bugs and harboured malware. It is difficult to feel sorry for anyone that has been infected while hoping to watch a popular movie star crash his car, but apparently some virtual rubberneckers will be at home right now wondering why their computer isn't working. Cluley explains, "Sophos is adding detection of the malware as Troj/Dldr-DB".

We suspect Tom Hanks will take the Cluley role, if this particular story is made into a film. µ

Tom Hanks

I can't stand him. My least favourite movie star. I can't bear to watch anything with him in (apart from Toy Story and Toy Story II... which I guess you can argue he really isn't "in").

Made people in my office chuckle when they saw you mentioned he could play me though, seeing as they know of my irrational dislike.

Johnny Depp - DUH

This is the retard from Hollywood who wears a pendant around his neck of a brutal cold-blooded murderer from the Castro-led Cuban communist revolution.

Anyone who honors such trash is clearly trash.

Good News??

Well,I don't fancy him or his 'partner'.
I LOVE his ex-wife(Rachel Sweet) though.

Unlike the 'flaming' above, she would be my 'ideal' flame...she's 'hot',lol.

Oh crap....

I can just see it now some random astronaught tweeting "Oh crap, I just dropped the 20 million dollar zero-G torque wrench".

As for those ragging on Depp have you met the man? I ask cause while I personally haven't had the pleasure I know people who have and they all say he's a nice guy. Not to mention he's one of the most well liked and respected actors on the planet at the moment.

I am afraid the movie would lack any religious connotation. If an angel or demon would be involved in the hoax, Tom Hanks would be involve. These days he is taking always the same role.

Why did they abbreviate "are" with "R", but not "International Space station" with the common "ISS"?

I.S.S.

T.J. Creamer? How do you get a last name like that? Is he married to a "Coffee"?

He's not so internet savvy.
