FLOGGER OF EXPENSIVE SOFTWARE, SAS is apparently the best US outfit to work for according to figures compiled by Fortune magazine.

Unfortunately for job hunters there are not many open positions in the offing at the company, which has allowed its staff numbers to grow by only less than 2 per cent over the last year.

The rankings were compiled to included all companies in the US.

Traditionally IT companies have been seen as great places to work, but it appears that is slipping. While SAS was named the best place to work, other IT companies were not so well represented.

Google was ranked fourth in the league tables but sadly it is not hiring very many people either. Google trimmed about 10,000 staff last year, although they were mostly contract workers.

NetApp was ranked seventh, Qualcomm was ninth and Cisco was listed at 16th. Adobe ranked number 42 and Microsoft was a pitiful 51, while Intel barely made the top hundred in 98th place. µ

What about Apple?

Yo Nick! Y'all missed an opportunity to disparage Apple. Or were they high on the list?

Awwww....

...I thought you meant the "real" S.A.S... with funky guns, outfits, vehicles and lucrative post-career book/TV documentary deals once your brain or knees crumble and forces you to retire.
