AT&T won't sell the IPhone in the Big Apple

IF ANYONE wants an Iphone in much of the New York City metropolitan area they apparently will have to import one from another town.

It's not Apple's fault, but that of its exclusive carrier in the US, AT&T, which apparently is fed up with dealing with complaints from New Yorkers about dropped connections on its network.

It seems to have decided that, faced with a choice of either improving its network or not selling the Jesus phone in New York City, it is better to ban the sale of the Iphone.

According to the Consumerist, when people go to the AT&T Wireless website trying to get an Iphone they have to stick in their postcode.

When the postcode 11231 is put in the site says the Iphone is unavailable. This Iphone-less area includes Midtown Manhattan, Staten Island, and the Bronx.

Calls to AT&T confirmed that New York is not ready for the Iphone. µ

Has everyone been smoking weed?
One of the complaints from the original iphone reviews were always about the poor radio inside the phone.
Everyone has forgotten that the phone is faulty, and now ATT is taking the rap for it.
