Blackberry suffers more network problems

Outage after outage
Wed Dec 23 2009, 11:10

FOR THE SECOND TIME in a week Blackberry users across the US are having problems getting their email.

In a press statement, Blackberry maker Research in Motion (RIM) confirmed that some users of the smartphone in the Americas were experiencing delays in message delivery. A spokesman said that its technical teams were working to resolve the issue for those impacted and said sorry to punters.

But RIM has been short of reasons for the outage or the extent of the problem. This ongoing problem follows a similar but short-lived outage last week.

RIM has been doing quite well lately and recently reported better than expected sales of Blackberrys, but that could change if its email service starts getting a reputation for being unreliable. µ

RIM - Blackberry lies a lot.

This past weeks issues was with BIS but the most recent was with BES. At least they are admitting an outage.

But this is typical of RIM - Blackberry not to admit faults especially when data loss can occur.

Certain versions of their software lose calendar items and when they fix such an issue and put the fix in an update it will say something vague like fixes calendar issue with no more details.

is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Try something new, other phones out there allow you to use your own mail service (gmail, yahoo, etc or your own isp/mail server). This "push technology" isn't limited to rim.

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
