SAMSUNG HAS LAUNCHED its bada mobile platform comprising hardware, an operating system and a developer environment, in a bid to convert the feature phone masses over to smartphones.
Camera in hand, we joined our fellow journalists at yesterday afternoon's London launch event, where we all gathered to try and make sense of the vague hand waving delivered by the Samsung execs.
During the first two minutes of the video Hosoo Lee, executive vice president and head of the Media Solution Center at Samsung, talks about the bada launch at a very high level.
The rest of the footage sees Thomas Richter, Samsung's director of portfolio management, discuss the various aspects of bada in a bit more detail, including a few shots of the interface and some information regarding the company's bada app store and developer competition. µ
I have the Tocco and I must say its the only phone I have had which I have kept for over a year, so all this so called its rubbish aint right :P Dont forget its one of the first touch screen none smart phones that works.
Also in my experience Nokia died ALONG time ago (want to talk about a bad phone, wait no a series talk about the N series).
Now I agree the OS is late, too late thats to be seen by how good it actually is. Then again if it is bad or good it doesnt mean it will fail or win.
Iphone sucks...
It's not clear if it is too little, but what it's really clear is that it is too late.
Yes: we needed a replacement for Symbian chaos world, Windows is still not in as many phones as PCs (a good thing) and iPhone has very few owners (in fact, only a single owner with millions of phones: Apple Inc). This is the reason because Android was developed, but it now just exists and 2.0 version starts to be cool. Why yet another propietary OS?
... So let's face it, Samsung want to have one of their own horse on this track ah?
Geez, we got the Iphone on his closed platform, we got Android whetever you want it, we even got the soon-to-get-retired Windows Mobile OS and Symbian Palm OS... now Samsung want to put another of those little mobile monstruosities out in the wild? Ok, they want to milk an app store cow all of their own... I don't belive it's going any far.
Meh for Samsung. I bet on Android.
As an ex mobile sales consultant, I can tell you that the F480 was a flaming turd, but that in general, Samsung do produce some very nice, very reliable handsets.
They are chatting through their arse!
Samsung can't even release software fix to transfer SMS to the computer. Had a really poor experience with the Tocco F480 plus many previous SAMSUNG mobiles.
I will never use SAMSUNG ever again!!!!
