Apple plugs security holes

It is not us it is Java
Mon Dec 07 2009, 11:17

APPLE HAS PLUGGED security holes in its Leopard and Snow Leopard operating systems.

Of course it has nothing to do with Jobs' Mob, as Apple's operating systems are totally secure and never have any faults at all - unlike Windows. In this case the problems are all to do with Apple's version of Java.

Java was not written by Apple, so it is okay because there are still not any flaws in Apple's software at all, it's all still just as perfect as Steve Jobs declares it is.

True, it is installed by default and the flaws do make Apple machines as vulnerable as Windows XP, but hey, Steve has personally fixed it now.

Actually Apple fixed a whopping 14 vulnerabilities in the version designed for OS X 10.6 systems. The package put together for 10.5 Macs corrects more than 24 security flaws. Mac users can grab the patches via Software Update or from Apple Downloads.

But Apple users can feel assured that tomorrow Microsoft will release six patches of its own. Then the fanboys, who tend to have memories like their machines, will remind everyone how OSX is more secure than Windows and Linux. µ

Religion - The Contemprary God, Not Divinity

The realm that exists on relativities, where the first depends on a last and the sophisticated depends on there being the mundane and the privileged/talented depends on the "support" of the "common", works through domination, commonly mistakened as power. Now, repeat the following, "I must now listen very carefully or else I might not make it past the fanboy level". Why? because fanboys really, really, do not know how stupid-cum-dumb they are or else they'd know what follows:

Just because a human can think doesn't mean he knows anything real much like a higher ground could offer a better perspective than the lower ground. And stop rationalising about helicopters and satellites offering even better perspectives - we are talking about the reality of self not others' relativities.

Through the material realm, we are able to realised who we are but the material is not [the means] for domination, it is the partial means for expressing the living. When we dominate the material, we are trying to do that but when it is weaponry, it becomes the living dead - the means by which we dominate others. Fanboys/worshippers/the-religious-of-faith-material-intellect are one such medium. The greedy, stupid, dumb, immoral are who they are and not who/what they were or are going to be. To allow the material to dominate is to make one heartless-cum-brainless. Animals/non-thinkers do not have that quality even though their joys/expression-of-the-living are very limited.

The material universe was created [through The Big Bang] to enact The Play of Life through humans, the epitome of creation, there being no aliens or humanoids with green blood, shaped with a big brain cum weeney body. As such, being material, all our expressions are material related - not, for the material only forms one-fith of the total human dimension though it affords us, the thinkers, the means of realising the other 4/5ths which are intangible. In addition, out of the 5 components which make up the human soul, only 2 are of the material when we are immaterial whilst when we are material, all the five elements are there. Meaning? - don't play with gadgetry and use it as the means to dominate others.

The problem with the likes of Apple, oka religion of faith, material and intellect, meaning the full flood of "damage", is that it affords those who are lost withint their "first" & "last", the means to dominate others through their stupidity-cum-dumbness. How so? because stupidity is to imagine that through being "better", we are actually better, and dumbness is to think that we can buy "better". Forget about those who looked human but aren't [and most have NO means of realising the difference other than that they are always positioned at the pinnacle of dominance, mistakened as power {for Love is the real power because only She has the ability to vapourised dominance}] but always remember to introspect and look truly at what you are doing [it all for] - whilst it is happening/living. Dominance, oka advertisement/representation/lobbying, say, has only the means to take the living into the realm of the living dead throught the past or the future, dominance has no ability to enter into the living/present which is within the individual. Looking from that perspective, aren't they the clever and cunning dickies being able to take the living and make living deads out of them through their electronic "scrolling", "pinching" and more nonsense imaginable this side of death.

Science, oka human intellect, which is not intelligence per se, has only one role and that is to prove the existence of Divinity and not to be the "pretender to the throne". Should that not happen, which it should, then the oncoming years will see the fruits of this idiocy-cum-lunacy because the cyclical/first-and-the-last is merely the error/play for realising the helical/Reality. Unless and until a human becomes real and not maintain his partial position or in most cases, actually devolving, we will have to go round again until we've realised how to witness the play/learn the error. When it comes to
Reality, humans cannot be taught, we have to learn, time and time again - one reason why religions are so addictive.

@Nick Sucks

He hasn't been fired because he has a loyal following of MAC fanboys he keeps in a fervor, that follow his every post and claim to hate his writing. But they are there every day, hanging on every word like school girls with a crush.

And Mike N. you claim less and less ppl are reading. Are you privy to the Inq.'s stats? I doubt it. And I see more than enough of the MAC faithful flaming Nick every day. Replies don't = readership. If you can do better do it and stop whining. The Inq is the same as it has always been, Nick included. Tongue in cheek (cheeky?) and a bit raw. It's the whole point that ppl like you seem to miss, but your here every day, so it must be working.

Imagine that. Me, an American, explaining dry, sarcastic humor on a British website. Who'd have thunk it....

relevancy and sad little boys #2

I should add that the Inq has done some WONDERFUL reporting in the past on Macs, especially the current story regarding the Nvidia chip scam that's currently causing Apple...and other...manufacturers so much heartburn.

Bit when smarmy reports such as the above are published, the Inq's credibility on other issues that affect Apple is rightfully called into question.

At this point, it is simply giving Nvidia more weapons.

Sandboxing?

Why don't they develop sandboxing within the OS? They could limit the security breaches caused by 3rd party software suchy as Java.

Apple had bugs too

I bought a brand new Mac Book Pro from Apple's site on Black Friday....
We built fresh from the factory and shipped direct.
First think it wanted to do was download and install nearly 1Gbyte of patches.....
APPLE is FAR FROM PERFECT.

relevancy and sad little boys

interested_party: not relevant=no useful information whatsoever. This individual writer cannot bring himself to put his prejudices aside and report news. He has damaged his reputation beyond repair and is damaging the Inq.

nECrO: If you'll look at the posts here, you will see fewer and fewer people defending Macs against this little boy's latest diatribe. That's because fewer and fewer are reading the Inq. If I had known he was the writer, I would not have clicked on the link. And no, the my first reply was NOT composed on a Mac.

This site has abandoned news in favor of generalizations that I would expect from a three year old. Too bad....it coulda been a contendah.....!

It's a tradition... Every Apple machine is so expensive that when you pay for it you automagically get your (butt)hole plugged.

More Ferret Flamebait

Unbelievable.

I wish I had a job where I could get paid to write hate posts against companies I hated.

Why hasn't the Ferret been fired yet?

@Mike N

Not relevant? You and the rest of the Apple faithful (Read fanboys who've drank the kool-aid) still read all his articles and hang on his every word. I not only call it relevant, I call it entertainment.

I enjoy Nick's joking at Apple and it's "superiorness"

It's like laughing at people who buy Sony and then get stuck with expensive memory cards that they cannot plug into anyone else's computer, camera or phone.

Easy solution, don't buy locked in extortionate goods.

Mike N - what is relevant?

Another Apple Bashing article..

So, what's the story here? Ignoring Nick's usual anti-Apple shite, it's simple. Someone discovered a load of bugs in OSX or other Apple products, and Apple patched them.

Hmm, how terrible of them.

the hate continues

No kidding, is there a reason a well-known Mac hater seems to write all the Mac crap for the Inq? It was funny for a while, now he's just not relevant...and neither is the Inq.

Java on an apple, is apple's java.

Java on os x, is actually developed by Apple.
True, Sun has a lot of input and provides the majority of the codebase - but it is controlled by apple.
Hence 10.4 etc.. have to wait for open source bsd ideas to fill the java gaps, cuz apple doesn't support 10.4 anymore.

Ubuntu is at least free

All os's are vulnerable regardless of what anything thinks. If not the os then the router or other wifi or whatever. The problem is our whole life's are built with technology that will fail sooner or later. With all this new technology we are making our lives more insecure and there is no way around it except not to use it.
Windows is insecure and always will be, Os Is a little better but Linux might be the best and at least its free and probably has more free software than the others. People that dont think there is much free software apps in Linux havent spent much time with it. The problem is netflix and other media doesnt support it, and thats not the fault of Linux. Linux has its bugs but somehow I think people take pride in trying to make the best os there is instead of making the os for profit.

This article is a wicked and pernicious LIE. MAC OS IS PERFECT. The author is a heretic and should be burnt at the stake for such profligate and perfidious blasphemy.

INQ Poll

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
